rom the perennial fields of Holland comes the Russian-created singular beauty Gzel Phlox, Phlox paniculata, featuring bright blue buds that open to a unique coloring: half of each petal is blue, the other half white. The fragrant flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies and make excellent cut flowers. It grows 32″ tall. A member of the outstanding “Russian Lady” series of garden Phlox, these Phlox have larger flower clusters with extended bloom times and tough, more disease-resistant foliage than many other garden Phlox. It prefers full sun but performs beautifully in part sun too. It is named after the traditional Russian ceramics and porcelain craft.
